We’re thrilled to introduce our Artist Spotlight Series, where we feature talented makeup artists who are experienced in Asian bridal beauty and are highly recommended by the Asian community.
To kick things off, we’re featuring Lyndsey Ariel Pozo, a Filipina makeup artist with rave reviews about her artistic talent and easy communication style.
From painting walls as a child to painting faces as a bridal specialist, Lyndsey has always been an artist at heart. With over 15 years in the beauty industry, she’s a self-taught and certified makeup artist, educator, and bridal expert. After 14 years of experience in NYC, she’s now based in Miami helping brides feel radiant and confident on their big day.
Lyndsey is a pro at bringing out the natural beauty of clients and really listening to what they want. We’re so impressed by the range of her portfolio! Some of our favorite looks:
Lyndsey’s work speaks for itself! But we were curious what inspires her approach and what advice she has for brides. We asked her to share her insights:
A: My background in art and fashion influence my makeup style in that I love timeless styles but I’m not scared to shake things up and I can adapt well to ever changing styles and trends. I like to take trendy things and make them into more wearable looks.
A: Ooh! There are so many favorite parts! For one, I absolutely love helping people feel and look their best—there's truly no better feeling than seeing a client light up when they look in the mirror! I love when they can’t stop admiring themselves in the mirror. Second, I really enjoy building long-lasting relationships with my clients. I’m often with them through special milestones in their lives—like proms, graduations, engagements, weddings, maternity shoots, newborn photoshoots, family shoots, and beyond. It’s such a special bond, and I love being part of those moments, helping my clients feel their best during life’s most meaningful occasions. Third, the artistry—I love testing out new products and learning new techniques. As artists, we are constantly evolving, and it's exciting!
A: My goal is always to enhance the bride's natural beauty and help her feel as gorgeous as she truly is. I take the time to chat with each bride about their vision for the day and listen to what they love—whether it's a specific style or something special to their culture. From there, I tailor the makeup to suit their skin tone, features, and personality, whether we're going for a soft, glowing look or something a bit bolder. The best part is seeing them feel like the most beautiful version of themselves on their big day!
A: My advice is to stick to what you like and what you’re most comfortable with—don’t go for what everyone else is doing just because it’s popular or trendy. It’s really helpful to browse images online of bridal looks on people with similar features to yours so you can better envision how a look will work for you. I always tell my brides to research pictures or create a Pinterest board of the looks they absolutely love. During the trial, we’ll break down each look and take elements you love from each one to create the perfect look just for you.
Another important piece of advice I’d give future brides is to voice your concerns, likes, and dislikes upfront during the trial. This way, we’ll know exactly what you're going for. The more information - the better! When we get to the final look, feel free to let us know if you'd like to make any adjustments or changes. It’s best to make those changes in real-time so you can see how it looks, rather than changing things on the day of and not being 100 percent sure. My goal is to perfect the look during the trial so we can confidently knock it out of the park on your wedding day!
We loved getting to know Lyndsey and her approach to bridal beauty! If you’re interested in working with her for your wedding, you can find her contact info and Instagram here.
